Internet: Reachable at 202.62.123.237, no services available The server is on an iMac and only the Caching Server is turned on. It is a Windows network utilizing Active Directory. Nor does downloading from a client machine ever cache to the caching server - even though the client and server share the same (and only) public ip address, and the same (and only) subnet. Nothing I ever download/install from the Mac App Store via the Caching Server itself gets cached.
Could this non-caching be an issue in terms of bandwidth and/or regional settings? I did create an Apple ID based in Fiji and also set the Region for Oceania=>Fiji - but this made no difference. The downloads/installs, albeit very slow, always work fine here. However, I am finding it does not cache its own installs from the App Store nor from any other Mac on the network.Īlso, I am in Fiji and have very limited bandwidth - and thus a need for the Caching Server. I may have mistakenly presumed that the OS X Server (5.1.5 in my case) should always be caching its own unique downloads/installs from the Mac App Store - and also its downloads from iTunes, iBooks, etc.
